Privacy policy

Who we are

Zippyy (zippyy.net) is a free internet speed test run by Fernando K., based in Ireland. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, email hello@zippyy.net.

The short version

• No account or sign-up is needed.
• We don’t store your speed test results on our side.
• We don’t sell your data.
• We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.

What happens when you run a test

The speed test sends and receives test data to and from Cloudflare’s speed test servers. Like any website you visit, those servers receive your IP address and basic technical details about your connection. Zippyy also asks Cloudflare for your internet provider’s name and approximate location (town and country) to show them on the page. Cloudflare processes this under its own privacy policy.

What is stored on your device

Your last five results and your day or night mode choice are saved in your browser’s local storage, only on your device. We can’t see them. You can delete them at any time with the “Clear history” button or by clearing your browser data.

Visitor statistics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits, for example how many people visited, which countries they came from and which devices they used. It does not use cookies, does not track you across other websites and only gives us totals, not information about individual people.

Advertising

Zippyy does not show ads at the moment. If we add advertising in the future, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

Your rights

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, and to have it corrected or deleted. Because we don’t store test results or accounts, we normally hold no personal data about you. You also have the right to complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
